The Bartlett Parks Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization created in 2002 to help support the mission of the Bartlett Park District for items that are not usually financed by tax dollars. These items include funding Resident Financial Aid Scholarships, environmental educational programs, artwork for the community, and other charitable activities. The Foundation is led by a Board of Trustees comprised of active civic members of the community who are appointed to a three-year term. Free to Be Me Inclusive Playground
The Bartlett Parks Foundation is raising funds to build an inclusive playground in Bartlett Park that would be accessible to everyone and bridge the gap in play. Those wishing to take part and join in making this dream possible are encouraged to donate directly to the Bartlett Parks Foundation, 696 W. Stearns Road, Bartlett, IL 60103. The foundation leads a membership drive throughout the year to raise funds. The funds help to sustain the Foundation and allow the opportunity for it to provide charitable activities to benefit the community as a whole. Annual contributions of $100 or above are recognized through the Giving Tree located in the Bartlett Community Center with an inscribed leaf. Additionally you can honor a loved one, celebrate a special occasion, or recognize your family or corporation with the engraved leaf on the Giving Tree.

Since 2002 the foundation has donated over $25,000 to the Bartlett Park District Financial Aid Scholarship program, purchased a variety of art pieces displayed in the community Center, installed bronze statues in a variety of Bartlett parks and facilities, supported events like Earth Day, and partnered with the Park district to provide family fun events. The foundation is currently focusing their fundraising efforts on building an inclusive playground.
The Bartlett Parks Foundation hosts several special fundraising events throughout the year including the Fourth of July Turbo Turtle Race, Twilight Golf Outing, Earth Day, Wine and Beer Tasting, and more. Proceeds from Foundation fundraisers go towards the Bartlett Park District’s Financial Aid Scholarship Fund, educational programs for the Bartlett Nature Center, artwork for the community to enjoy, and other charitable activities.
Throughout the year the Foundation looks to businesses and individuals to help support their endeavors. Financial donations toward special fundraising events or in-kind donations for raffle prizes are always welcome. Turbo Turtle Race: July 4th at 4pm
Turbo Turtle Race Tickets are available beginning in May each year at the Bartlett Community Center or from a Foundation Trustee. Tickets are also available at the Fourth of July Festival and at the Bartlett Aquatic Center on July 4th 30 minutes prior to the race. Each ticket is $10 or purchase a turbo pack of 11 turtles for $100. Proceeds go to the Free To Be Me Inclusive Playground. For more information call 630-540-4824.
