This 18-hole course was designed to bring people of all ages out to enjoy the outdoors while participating in a recreational activity. Disc golf is played much like traditional golf however instead of a ball and clubs players use a flying plastic disc. The sport was formalized in the 1970's, and shares with "ball golf" the object of completing each hole in the fewest number of strokes (or, in the case of disc golf, with the fewest number of throws). A disc is thrown from a tee area to a target which is the "hole". The hole is an elevated metal basket with chains to catch the disc. As a player progresses down the fairway, he or she must make each consecutive shot from the spot where the previous throw has landed. The trees, shrubs, pond and terrain changes located in and around the fairways provide challenging obstacles for the golfer. Finally, the "putt" lands in the basket and the hole is completed.
Players should be cautioned that if their disc falls into the pond, they should not go in to retrieve it. Please make safety your first priority and have a fun and safe experience. Beginners are encouraged to use short tees or throw around water hazards.
